Community Guidelines

Spanish Camino is a global community of language learners. We believe everyone should have access to free language education. Our guidelines aim to establish a mutual agreement on what it means to be part of this community. If any violations of our guidelines occur, we will take appropriate action. We ask that you read them carefully.

Respect Above All

We come from different parts of the world and have varying levels of language knowledge, but we share the same goal: learning. Therefore, we celebrate curiosity, questions, and cultural understanding. Be respectful to other users and their viewpoints.

Offer Help to Other Users

Learning a new language requires a lot of effort and dedication, and together we are better. If you see someone making grammatical errors or asking questions about something that seems basic to you, be patient and offer your help kindly. With tact and good manners, everyone learns better. If you’re unsure how to phrase something nicely, don’t say it.

Accept and Share Regional Language Differences

A language can have various words, accents, and ways to say the same thing. We think this is one of the wonders of languages. Engage in these discussions with an open mind and attitude.

Think Before You Share

Your safety is important to us. Speaking another language is inherently social, but be cautious about sharing or posting private information that could be misused. This includes, for example, your phone number, age, address, arrival time at home, school name, email address, and any other personal information that could jeopardize your privacy. In other words, don’t overshare. Sharing and encouraging others to share personal information could lead to your post, and possibly your account, being removed.

Please Do Not Use Spanish Camino to…

  • Attack a Person or Group: Spanish Camino is a safe place for all types of learners. Harassment and harmful content will not be tolerated. Using symbols, names, and texts that promote hate, harassment, or stalking, as well as making sexual comments towards others and impersonating other users, will be considered abusive. This also applies to nudism and disturbing profile pictures or usernames. As stated in the terms of use, Spanish Camino reserves the right to replace or remove images or accounts at its discretion. Follow this golden rule: if you are making someone feel attacked or hurt, you shouldn’t be doing it. We take every report we receive very seriously and may delete your account without prior notice if our team verifies such activity.

  • Use Scripts and Cheat: At Spanish Camino, we believe in honest learning. If you are writing code snippets to cheat or sharing information and instructions on how to use Spanish Camino in a way that negatively impacts the system, the community, learning, data, or user experience, your account and posts may be removed from the platform.

  • Write Provocative Comments: Obscenities and off-topic comments that incite hate do not contribute to learning. Profanity doesn’t help anyone (let users learn those on their own). Keep such messages out of forum discussions.

In Summary

We do not tolerate content that is:

  • Illegal
  • Pornographic
  • Excessively profane or violent
  • Unsolicited
  • Threatening, harassing, or intimidating
  • Associated with racism or intolerance
  • Impersonating another person in a misleading or false manner
  • Confidential personal information

Please don’t waste your time trying to deceive us. We will remove any content that violates the spirit of these guidelines, and you risk losing partial or full access to Spanish Camino without warning. By following these rules, we will all contribute to a more engaging and collaborative learning community.
